The genesis of our company started with the creation of our own brand Advanced Skin Technology in 2001. The company was founded on the principles that formulation plays just as important a role as the active ingredient. AST was focused on the dermatology market, and we were the world’s first company to create the category of “high potency retinol” under the guidance of our medical director Dr. Nia Terezakis, a board certified dermatologist in New Orleans.

In search of a lab for our growing brand, we concluded that we were the only ones who could provide the quality and transparency we were looking for in a contract manufacturing partner. Therefore, Salient Labs LLC was created. Once established, we began to receive requests to formulate and manufacture products for our skin care medical partners.

Along with a strong dermatology foundation, our main emphasis now is contract manufacturing for other well-known brands and emerging businesses.
